NEW CD RELEASE -"One Good Reason"
As of February, “Almost Cheatin’,” the album’s first single, has been played more than 16,000 times on radio stations from coast to coast and is number 8 on the New Music Weekly Main Country Chart .
Recently, Kathryn performed songs from the new CD at the prestigious Frank Brown Songwriters Festival in Orange Beach, joining such luminaries as Billy Joe Shaver and Chris Newbury, son of Nashville songwriting legend Mickey Newbury. Earlier, Kathryn appeared at the LA Songwriter’s Festival in Fairhope and at the annual Jazz at the Center festival in Camden, SC. In addition to her festival performances, Kathryn launched the CD in her hometown of Fairhope, Alabama at the Patina Gallery and continued her busy listening room schedule with performances in such venues as Gnu’s Room in Auburn, Red Light Café in Atlanta and the famed Douglas Corner in Nashville.
Meanwhile, “One Good Reason” continues to garner worldwide attention. Produced by Mike Severs, the album features such Nashville greats as Pat Severs (the Everly Brothers, Pirates of the Mississippi) on dobro and steel guitar; Byron House (Robert Plant’s Band of Joy) on stand-up bass; Catherine Marx (Reba McEntire, Kathy Mattea) on keyboards; John Gardner (the Dixie Chicks, Gretchen Peters) on drums; Mike Severs (Dolly Parton, the Rascals) on guitars; and Kathryn herself on rhythm guitar. A portion of the profits from downloads of the song 'Mama's Lullaby'will go to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Kathryn's mother. |
“This is a great record,” says Dave Moody, President of Lamon Records, and a two-time Grammy nominee himself. “Lamon is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary as an independent label this year, and we are proud to have Kathryn’s CD as one of our releases.”KATHRYN’S NEW CD IS AVAILABLE AT ALL FINE MUSIC OUTLETS - iTUNES, AMAZON, AND OTHERS, OR at LAMON RECORDS

Ten of the songs we did are originals. Some are kind of up-tempo and feisty, like “Desperate Diva” and the title cut, “One Good Reason,” and there are, I think, some really beautiful songs of the heart. Also, we did a killer version of “Tennessee Waltz” that’s really different from any rendition I’ve ever head. Mike Severs was brilliant as always in putting the whole thing together.”
